A bike is not a vehicle to the person who owns it, and a sign that treats it like one lands wrong. Everything in this collection is laser cut from 16 gauge American steel, deburred by hand, then powder coated and cured so it survives a working garage rather than decorating a spare room.

What to personalize

Most designs here take a name, a shop name or a year. The ones that get hung use the rider's own words: if he calls it the shop, put shop on it. A parking sign with a name on it is the running joke that ends up permanently mounted by the bay door.

Sizing for a garage, not a hallway

Garage walls are large and a roller door usually eats half the usable space. An 18 inch sign that looks generous on a desk disappears on a shop wall. Start at 24 inches. If it hangs above a workbench, measure the bench and aim for roughly two thirds of its width.

Mounting on garage walls

Unfinished garage drywall is less forgiving than interior drywall, so find a stud where you can. On painted concrete block, use a masonry bit and a concrete screw rated for the load, and vacuum the dust out of the hole before driving the screw or it will not seat properly. Most signs in this range weigh 4 to 10 pounds depending on size.

As a gift

Riders are famously hard to shop for because anything practical they wanted, they already researched and bought. What they have not bought is a sign celebrating their own garage. That feels self-congratulatory to buy alone and completely right to receive.
